There was a young girl who was in the race

She prayed for peace and God’s saving grace

Her thoughts arose to the stars and heavenly place

As she sought His beautiful face

Her words were full of youthful joy

“I can see You in the clouds”

“I can feel You in the stars”

“I can hear Your thunderous roars”

“I am witness to Your majestic art

Your name is written in my heart

Her journey began all bright and full of light

Yet her insecurities grew in the black of night

Lies of the enemy took hold and wouldn’t let her go

The battle began for her soul

Her young heart was tossed back and forth by the waves

With no foundation to withstand the rains

Her choices and dashed dreams heaved her load

The battle was for her soul

Now her words were full of pain and sorrow

“I need to see You in the clouds”

“I need to feel You in the stars”

“I need to hear Your thunderous roars”

Please help me find my way home

Hear my prayers and tell me what’s true

Speak to me in Spirit and in Truth

You’re my everything always have and always been

But I shut you out to live in sin

Help me win

There was a woman with the full armor of God

She grew strong in her faith and knew her fate

The breastplate of righteousness now in place

The word of God in her embrace

She readied herself for the next race

Her words were full of peace and power

“I know you’ll be coming in the clouds”

“I know you’ll be stepping on the stars”

“I will see you face to face”

“You are my God and I’m your child of grace”

“I’ve been running the great race”

There was an old women who was still in the running

She prayed for the world to know Christ would be coming

She was in her last battle to help save every soul

Fighting for what the enemy stole

Longing for her future glory to become whole

For to Christ she was sold

She sang of her future joy

“I know they’ll be no more sadness”

“I know they’ll be no sin or blackness”

“I know Your glory will shine our way”

“Jesus, you give me strength for another day”

And with her last breath of fight

She soldiered up for the time that was right
